(2) Cadets are authorized to wear distinctive shoulder pads on Class A and Class B uniforms to recognize their status as active members of JROTC joint training organizations. Crack Drill Team and Color Guard cords are worn on the right shoulder for uniformity during performances. You can wear no more than two cords, one on each shoulder. Allowed cords:

GENERAL. Achievements are recognized with badges, medals and ribbons. All awards and decorations must be declared in the order before they are worn. A ribbon and a medal symbolizing the same award cannot be worn at the same time. The honors and awards listed here are the only ones authorized to be worn on the cadet uniform.

Class A and Class B uniforms may carry no more than three marksman badges. Women wear badges 1/4 inch below the ribbon. Men wear badges 1/8 inch below the top flap of the left pocket. One badge is worn in the center. The two badges are centered and worn at least 1 inch apart. Three badges are worn in the center and equidistant from each other. Only the highest qualification badge for each sponsoring organization will be worn, for example a cadet will not hold both the Cadet Command Expert Air Rifle qualification badge and the Sharpshooter Air Rifle qualification badge (see images 7-10). Allowed shooter icons in order of priority:

Medals are worn in order of seniority from right to left and from top to bottom. Cadets wear medals 1/4" below the ribbons or 1/8" below the row

Icons Male cadets wear medals 1/8 inch below the top of the left pocket flap or 1/8 inch below the bottom of the pocket flap on the pocket if wearing a row of badges. Medals are worn in rows of two or more. If only one medal is worn, it may be worn consecutively with one or two badges in the leftmost position. The number of medals in each row depends on the size of the jacket. The second and subsequent rows of medals will not contain more medals than the row above. For example, if there are five medals in the first row, then there must be five or fewer medals in the second row. Each row of medals is placed as high as possible below the row above. Below are the permitted medal awards in order of preference:

Criteria for the above awards will be distributed as an appendix to the manual or may be viewed online on the JROTC page of the CDH website. The descriptions and criteria are also part of the Wear of Uniform section presented in LET-1.

GENERAL. The Cretin-Derham Hall Cadet Corps places great importance on standards of uniform and appearance. Grooming and how members of an organization wear their uniforms indicate the state of discipline and morale in the organization. An exemplary appearance is the desired standard for every cadet at all times. Leading by example and showing a good attitude are important leadership qualities. Virtually all JROTC standards for uniform and appearance follow the CDH standards listed for all students in the student handbook. The minimum acceptable appearance standards for each cadet are listed below.
