So I've always wanted a "top shelf" AR since I was 16 and looking at gun store walls. The LWRC rifles have always held my attention, but with the $3000 price tag for their piston-operated rifles, they've always been out of my AR rifle range. In 2015 LWRC released their first IC-Di rifle with an MSRP of $1600, it can now be found online for $1200 and up, making it a very affordable option for people in the AR market.
Lwrc Di Accuracy
Di has the LWRC limited edition individual carbine designed to fulfill the Army contract request to replace and replace the aging M-4.
Lwrc International Ic Di, Geissele, Magpul Acs, Aimpoint Pro. Never Fired.
The Di features a 16.1-inch, 1:7-in. and 5.56 inches. The barrel is also made of 41V45 steel which is also used in the M240 military machine due to its durability, it also has an A2 type camouflage. Handguards are floating and proprietary to LWRC, so they cannot be changed to another type of handguard. The model I have uses the LWRC's mounting system, which uses a series of threaded holes to mount the rail sections (or the LWRC's polymer front fenders and rail covers). Personally I think the reason the Di's are so cheap is that LWRC just released a new model with the MLOK rail.
Another nice feature the Di has is a single bolt bracket assembly so gas wrenches aren't an issue. All BCG is coated with Nickel Boron, which is very similar to Robar's NP3 coating. This silver coating gives the BCG a great feel even when dry and makes it easy to clean. The only downside is that it comes in very shiny like new nickel, but as you inject the BCG it slowly starts to darken and loses its brightness, but it still retains its natural flavor. One little detail I really like about the BCG is that the retaining pin is like a permanent fixture and makes this drop unit easier to store and more protected than a regular BCG. The actual screw is standard "mil-spec" and not special, I'm thinking of adding a screw that has a nickel boron plating to make everything fit together.
The gun comes with a "Mil-Spec+" trigger, which is a "mil-spec" trigger with a nickel-boron coating on its design and is little better than a "mil-spec" trigger. This trigger is similar in concept to the ALG ACT trigger which is very popular here. Now I'm a big believer in the fact that life is too short not to shoot shit, so the first thing I did when I picked up a gun was drop into the Elftman Tactical ELF group. This is a steel drop that uses a full inch hammer and connector made from solid A2 steel with a mammelonite coating. This trigger is as close to a 1911 trigger as you can get in an AR and I highly recommend it, it might be $260~ but that's not true of the trigger either so I'll keep it short.
(The ELF trigger also runs on pads to help increase the smoothness of the unit. Since everything in the unit is EDM wire, the cutting shoe and hammer can also be changed to a 3-gun skeletonized hammer or solid straight trigger. or bent shoe)
Lwrc Ic Di In Depth Review
The only thing missing from the gun case is a metal sight, which isn't a problem for me because I'm just adding the gate look. I chose to install the Trijicon Accupower 1-8 as I wanted this to be my "all-purpose" rifle, good for whatever I wanted to do with it. Trijicon is resting on a Vortex mount called the Seekins Precision MXM, this combination worked very well and the look once installed was approx.
Accuracy testing was done in a private location from a 100 yard (laser) shot from a supported position. Rescue-type relaxation was not used, but the groups obtained were enough to make me very happy. I was surprised that the rifle preferred the 62gr Fiocci over the IMI MK262 Mod 1 ammo itself.
I have about 750 rounds or so through the gun that has the three loads shown above with the Wolf-type ammo thrown in to ensure the gun can reliably feed ammo. I just had a problem with the 62gr Fiocci, the primer hit but the cartridge didn't fire. After completing another round, he fired a second shot and fed the next round into the magazine without fail. I'll call it the tools article.
Overall I'm very happy with the rifle and the prices it can get right now is IMHO one of the best on the high end AR market today even reaching BCM prices. It's a small upgrade to the trigger part of the gun as a 100% charge throughout the inspection process. What I did is replace the stock with a Magpul product, as the LWRC stock is a little "bad" for my taste, and I want to swap out the A2 flash hider and comp to make the gun smoother. how I like to use three guns.
Lwrci Repr Mk2?
Great review, well written and informative. I really like the optics, it looks great when it's on top of the rifle.
I just bought it, I'm comparing this gun to my Knights SR15 mod 1 kit and I'll be honest, I don't see much of a difference. The main difference is that the LWRC is half the price of the KAC, I also change a few things. Geissele SD3G, PA AFAB, LWRC BUIS, Trijicon MRO, magpul K2 grip. I am very happy with my purchase and just need more tools and training
They are definitely a unique weapon for the price. OF COURSE, MOST AMBI-LOWERS are hard to find, as most ambi-lowers don't have a screw, they just loosen. I actually just looked online before reading your review and saw prices online in the $1050-1500 range. LWRC has always been a favorite of mine, just wish they offered a DI in OD Green lol. Really looking forward to the 10.5" DI offering.
Good writing! I really like the LWRC DI rifle. It was narrowed down to this, the DDm4 V7 or the ADM UIC mod 2 when I was looking for my first AR. Tell me the rage I know...
Quality Vs Junk Ar15 Parts
I understand both sides of that argument. To each his own. I am not criticizing these ideas, although the path I took has always been controversial. Again, I understand.
The ADM won me over and I'm happy about it, but I always get one of the LWRCs when I can and I think one day... hands.... ugghh.
Great review, wow what a beautiful gun. I've been thinking about buying another AR when the price drops. So you have but I know what's wrong with me
Great review, the gun looks like a cutie! As you said the price ridiculously puts this type of weapon within reach of many other shooters...

Now those nightstands don't last long, my guess is the LWRC is blasting guns with "old style" handguards to make MLOK handguards with new weapons because that's the heat right now. Personally, I like the LWRC guard because the only rail I added was the light.
Great comment Dean. So I shot 2 guns and am looking at a new AR. I don't know if this lwrc will work? Any suggestions from you. Thanks

Lwrc Ic Di [3744x1960][oc]
I think it would be especially for the price of ~$1000, the only real thought I have is to combine the gun and throw a new trigger on it.
